About the Artist

For Minal Kaerey, art is the ultimate reflection of the soul.

A practice in which both child-like playfulness and ageful wisdom come together in harmony to invite connection and allow a true expression of the self.

Minal’s artistic journey originally began as a soothing, meditative escape from her career in corporate finance. She soon realised the positive effects that her creative process was having on her, allowing a greater connection to herself, to others, and to nature.

“Being an artist helps to bring calmness to daily life. To be grounded and connected to people and nature and to be open to new possibilities”

The core of Minal’s style takes the form of Abstract Expressionism, using the brush as a dynamic extension of her subconscious. From the start, Minal has been guided by spiritual inspiration and listening to her inner voice – the catalyst for her journey being a recurring dream of an eagle which inspired her to eventually pick up a paintbrush, something she hadn’t done since childhood. This approach of surrendering to the subconscious is the heart of her process today, creating occasionally with a clear end goal in mind, but most often allowing the art to flow through her and into the final artwork.

“Art has been a healing journey for me and has helped me to ground myself and find peace and balance in my life”.

Minal uses various mediums such as acrylics, watercolour and pastels to create her work, which itself combines both structure and delicacy in an exploration of the power and intricacies of the natural world, from the ocean to endangered species.

Across all her pieces, Minal creates with the intent that her work be a true encapsulation of the peace and positivity that comes from living and creating in harmony with the Universe.

“I live my life as if everything is a miracle – being guided to create my artwork is a miracle indeed for me, and I am very grateful for the experience.”

Minal has recently completed her debut exhibition ‘Grace: Elegance of Movement’, the works from which can be viewed here.
